Videos of musician Bongekile 'Babes Wodumo' Simelane dancing at her husband Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo's funeral went viral and have melted the hearts of thousands. South Africans, however, were quick to jump on the humour wagon and started to recreate this very emotional moment.

Afrotainment released a statement on December 29 announcing that popular musician and businessman Mandla "Mampintsha" Maphumulo had died following a stroke.

The #BabesWodumoChallenge has left many people divided on social media, with some stating that Babes should be left alone to deal with her grief, while others saw the humour in it and had a good chuckle.

Not long after this video went viral, South Africans jumped onto Tik-Tok.

One user responded to the challenge on Facebook: "This is very stupid. Slow thinker".

Another one chipped in and said: "This is not good at all. How could you do that to her. She's in pain bathong."

However, other users seem to enjoy the typical South African humour of this challenge.

Thabo Baloyi wrote: "Stop being so serious about everything South Africans are known for poking fun at sometimes serious situations. I doubt the lady meant any harm. I think it's HILARIOUS."

Another user commented with laugh emoji's: "Welcome to South Africa. The country that does not disappoint when it comes to disappointment."

It seems nothing can put a damper on South Africans and their sense of humour.

Since her husband's funeral, Babes has returned to the stage to perform.
