Though the speculation has been rife about Teboho Mokoena moving from Mamelodi Sundowns to Al Ahly next season, that is simply not the case.

This is according to Mokoena’s agent, Glyn Binkin.

Mokoena, 29, has been one of the standout players for Sundowns this season, as they are still in the running for a CAF Champions League title and securing their ninth league title in a row.

Lending credence to the belief that Mokoena is not going anywhere right now is the fact that his contract with Sundowns runs until the end of 2029.

Teboho’s Future with Sundowns: Transfer Speculation and Current League Standings

"To be honest, at almost every single transfer window, there is speculation linking Teboho with Al Ahly, but as you alluded to, he has a contract with Sundowns until 2029, in which case Al Ahly would contact Sundowns if they were interested in signing the player," Binkin told Ongama Gcwabe for SportsBoom.co.za.

"For now, Teboho is focused on the league, the Champions League, and thereafter the World Cup, and after that, we can sit down and assess what options may exist in terms of his future at the club.”

Sundowns are currently in second place in the Betway Premiership with 58 points after 25 games.

Title hopefuls Orlando Pirates currently top the log, with 59 points but have played one game more than the champions.

Even though Pirates are ahead at the moment, Sundowns are still heavy favourites to retain their title. This despite the fact that Pirates boast a far superior goal difference of 39, compared to the 30 of Sundowns. Pirates have also scored 51 goals while Sundowns have only scored 43 this season.
