Popular Manchester United TikTok influencer NayeemUtd says Manchester United must sign Mamelodi Sundowns striker Iqraam Rayners following his performance in the FIFA Club World Cup match against Ulsan HD.
Sundowns beat South Korean side Ulsan HD in the early hour of Wednesday morning (SA time) in a match delayed by a weather warning and played before largely empty stands.
It was also Sundowns’ first victory in any version of the Club World Cup, after they lost both their matches in their only prior appearance, in 2016.
The South African side went top of Group F after German side Borussia Dortmund and Brazilian outfit Fluminense drew 0-0 earlier.
Rayners had the ball in the back of the Ulsan net on three occasions in the first half, but two of the goals were disallowed after the first effort from a corner came off his hand before it crossed the line, while the other goal was disallowed because he was offside.
The goal that did count showcased the Bafana Bafana’s striker’s movement and finishing ability.
NayeemUtd is really impressed with Rayners’ performance, even calling for the Premier League giants to get the player to Old Trafford “right now”.
United are searching for a new striker, with prolific Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike linked to a move to Old Trafford. NayeemUtd, however, wants Rayners.
“Iqraam Rayners … Iqraam Rayners! This guy is him. Manchester United better sign this player this summer,” NayeemUtd said during a post on TikTok.
“Iqraam Rayners is the reason why Mamelodi Sundowns is going to the round of 16 in the Club World Cup. He could have had a hat-trick in just 30 minutes if he didn’t do a Maradona and kept himself onside.
“Iqraam Rayners scoring three goals against Ulsan, but only one counting … He even feels sorry for the team he is playing against. This is why we love him, he is the carrier of Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Bring him home to Manchester United right now!”
