The machine used � which was installed at the LCM Hospital just over a month ago � is the only one of its kind in South Africa and represents the most cutting edge technology in the world when it comes to MR scans. The tunnel is shorter (good news for claustrophobics), the software more user-friendly and the scanning time much quicker. The MR scan and MR angiogram allow them to identify where the lesion is and what shape it is.
