Award-winning artist Sjava is set to mark a major milestone in his career, celebrating a decade in music with a nationwide series of performances under the Sjava 10 Year Celebration Tour.
The tour comes ten years after his official debut on the local music scene and will see him take his catalogue of music to fans across the country, revisiting the songs and moments that have defined his journey and connection with audiences over the past decade.
Following sold-out shows in Cape Town and Durban, the tour now heads to Middleburg in Mpumalanga, where fans will gather on Friday, 1 May at the Steve Tshwete Banquet Hall.
“Ngijabule kakhulu and I am grateful more than anything. Ten years akusiyona into encane, especially in this industry. A lot changes and a lot tests you,” Sjava said.
He added that bringing the tour to Middleburg carries special meaning.
“Taking The Sjava 10 Year Celebration Tour to Middleburg means a lot because it’s about sharing this moment with the people who’ve been part of the journey and those who are just joining it now.”
Sjava confirmed that demand for the tour has been overwhelming, with multiple dates selling out within days.
“My Cape Town and Durban tour dates in March and April were sold out. Pretoria and Johannesburg showed love and those upcoming shows in June and October sold out too, ngokushesha and I’m grateful for that,” he said.
“But the story doesn’t end there. If you’re outside Mpumalanga, Middleburg is calling… come through, make the trip, be part of something special. This one is for all of us.”
Fans attending the tour can expect a journey through Sjava’s catalogue, revisiting defining works such as Isina Muva, Umqhele, and Umsebenzi Deluxe, alongside selections from his Inkanyezi Trilogy performances.
The setlist will include fan favourites such as Amafu, uMama, Confession, Umcebo, Balele, Amavaka, and Uyena, among others.
“We’ve spent the last two years touring the different albums individually and it was great,” Sjava said.
“But I felt that this milestone was one that deserved a deep dive into the entire discography. It won’t be easy because the catalogue has a lot of songs, but we’ll try and cover as much as is humanly possible each night.”
The tour continues across the country, offering fans a reflective and immersive experience of a career that has shaped a generation of South African music lovers.
