Empowering women to look and feel their best

I have written about mushrooms and all of their amazing benefits and another miracle plant I want to explore a bit more soon is turmeric, that golden root bursting with healing potential. But today I am all about collagen. Sisters are doing it for themselves over at Motherkind and they have a really cool Women’s Month event coming up, so I thought we would explore the magic of collagen and touch on the event too so we can get our health and wellness on, together.

So here is how it all started for me. One day, on my way out of a lovely massage, I spotted a big bag of collagen. I had no idea what it was really for, but something told me to give it a go. And I kept giving it a go. I have never looked back. There are so many different brands on the market but there is one I’ve fallen in love with. Motherkind.

Founded on the simple principle of empowering women to look and feel their best so they can be their best, Motherkind is all about clean, premium supplements that support your skin, hair, nails, joints and even gut health. The results are real and the flavours are delicious.

I spoke to Bianca Gey van Pittius, Marketing Coordinator at Motherkind, about her collagen journey and what she loves most about the brand.

“The biggest benefit for me has been the incredible improvement in my hair,” she shared. “It is healthier, stronger and growing faster. My skin feels firmer and more hydrated, and collagen has really helped ease joint discomfort which started after I had a baby.”

Her go-to products are Glow From Within and Glow and Grow capsules.

“Postpartum hair thinning was rough. These gave me my confidence back. My nails are stronger too and I just feel so much better overall.”

So what makes Motherkind stand out in a sea of collagen options?

“It is the quality and the ingredients. Every product is designed with women in mind and they are so easy to use. You can feel and see the difference.”

Kyli Brown, Digital Marketer at Motherkind, had a similar story.

“For me the standout benefit has been a healthy gut. I used to struggle with IBS but that is now a thing of the past. Glow From Within was the very first product we launched and it is still my favourite today.”

She also highlighted something many women value deeply.

“Motherkind is not just about the products. It is about the community. That is the heart of everything we do and what makes the brand truly empowering.” You glow girl.

Of course, what we eat plays a big role in supporting the body’s natural collagen production. Nutrients like vitamin A, found in sweet potatoes and carrots, and vitamin C from citrus fruits, broccoli, and peppers, all help to keep our skin healthy, strong, and glowing. Copper is another quiet powerhouse. It supports collagen production by helping to form and stabilise collagen fibres, and you’ll find it in almonds, dark chocolate, lentils, and even shellfish. Berries are also brilliant. Not only are they packed with antioxidants, but their vibrant colours come from plant pigments that protect the skin from damage and help boost collagen naturally. Amino acids are important too and can be found in eggs, lean meats, dairy, and mushrooms. Honestly, what are those little mushrooms not good for?

They seem to pop up everywhere when it comes to brain and body health. So whether you are already a convert or just a little curious about collagen like I was, now is the perfect time to give it a go. And what better way than to join in at the upcoming Women’s Month event where wellness meets community and they celebrate what it means to feel your best from the inside out. It’s going down at The Italian Club in Bedfordview on August 23 but to find out more pop over to motherkindco.co.za.

Good food, plenty of laughter, and a little self-care is my perfect recipe for glowing inside and out. So let’s raise a spoon to feeling fabulous and living our best, happiest lives.
