SOUTH Africans are once again dreaming big as one of the biggest Lotto draws of the year promises a staggering estimated R100 million jackpot on Wednesday night.

With anticipation building across the country, queues, conversations and last-minute ticket purchases are expected to intensify ahead of the draw as hopeful players imagine what life could look like after a nine-figure payday.

ITHUBA, operators of the National Lottery, have unveiled what they describe as an exciting midweek line-up of jackpots, with multiple opportunities for participants to strike it lucky.

While the headline prize remains the eye-catching R100 million Lotto jackpot, players also have a chance to compete for an estimated R1.5 million in Lotto Plus 1 and a further estimated R4.5 million in Lotto Plus 2.

The combined jackpots have added to the sense of nationwide excitement as players look for a shot at instant financial transformation.

For many South Africans, jackpots of this size trigger fantasies of paying off debt, buying homes, helping family members, travelling, investing in businesses or simply escaping the pressures of everyday living.

The National Lottery said participants are encouraged to add Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 to their tickets for additional chances to win.

“With high-value jackpots on offer, the National Lottery continues to create meaningful opportunities for South Africans to dream bigger and take action towards a multi-million status. Good luck Mzansi!” said ITHUBA CEO Charmaine Mabuza.

Tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery website, via the mobile app and on participating banking platforms.

Players hoping to enter Wednesday night’s draw will need to act quickly, however, as ticket sales close at 8.30pm.

Lottery organisers also reminded participants that players must be 18 years or older and urged South Africans to play responsibly.

Whether the R100 million jackpot finally finds a winner tonight or rolls over once again, one thing is certain – Lotto fever has firmly gripped Mzansi.

The National Lottery’s Lotto jackpot for Wednesday, May 6, 2026, is estimated at a massive R100 million as anticipation builds ahead of the draw.
