The South African Police Service will be hosting passing out parades for newly trained police officers on Friday.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) will be deploying over 1,900 more boots on the ground across the nation from this weekend.
A total of 1,918 newly trained constables will be passing out on Friday.
Acting Police Minister, Professor Firoz Cachalia, along with Deputy Police Ministers Dr Polly Boshielo and Cassel Mathale, will be in attendance at one of the passing out parades across the country.
The National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, will be joining Minister Cachalia, who will be officiating at the largest parade, which comprises of 849 graduates and the Bhisho Police Academy in the Eastern Cape.
The newly trained constables, who underwent the Introductory Police Development Learning Programme (IPDLP), are all graduates who hold qualifications in criminology, policing, law, forensic investigation, and various other fields of study. They will be deployed to bolster crime-fighting efforts, especially at the 30 stations with the highest crime rates.
The passing out parades will take place simultaneously on Friday, August 15, at 9am as follows: Bhisho and Mthatha Academy in the Eastern Cape, Bishop Lavis in the Western Cape, Mankwe in the North West, Ulundi Academy in KwaZulu-Natal, and the Moloto Academy in Mpumalanga.
