After being crowned Miss Universe Nigeria last year, Chidimma Adetshina swore that she would not return to South Africa; however, it seems like the beauty queen never lived up to her words after being spotted in SA just recently.

Even though there is no official evidence that Adetshina is indeed in SA right now, netizens have expressed their concern over the controversial beauty queen reportedly being in Mzansi.

Operation Dudula released a statement on social media regarding her being back in the country and also revealed that, as an organisation, they have confirmed that Adetshina is back in SA.

“Fellow South Africans, we have confirmed that Adetshina, a Nigerian national accused of using a stolen South African identity, is still living freely in Cape Town – despite claims from Home Affairs SA that she was deported.

“During the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, she herself confirmed she is based in South Africa. This goes against South African Immigration Laws, which clearly state that anyone found to have used another person’s identity – directly or indirectly – is liable for deportation,” the organisation wrote in a statement.

In addition, netizens have taken to X to call out the Home Affairs minister, Leon Schreiber, and to ask him how Adetshina entered SA.

@ashseraka wrote: “How did Chidimma Adetshina get back in the country @Leon_Schreib?”

“@HomeAffairsSA @Leon_Schreib How is it possible that a person with known fake identification documents is back in the country?” @LixMiller said.

Just recently, the beauty queen has been revealing what has been happening behind the scenes with the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, and everything appears not to be rosy.

Adetshina joined an Instagram live of Miss Supranational Nigeria, Paula Ezendu and revealed in the comment section that after the Miss Universe Nigeria finale, she was basically ditched by the organisers.

She also rallied behind a fellow Nigerian beauty queen, Nyekachi Douglas, who was snubbed from the competition and shared how she was told to withdraw from participating.

Taking to the comment section, the 24-year-old shared how she is fully supporting Douglas and said: “I STAND WITH YOU!! You deserve every opportunity to compete… TELL YOUR STORY!”

Adetshina has also reportedly cut ties with Nigeria's beauty pageant, unfollowing them on Instagram and announcing her absence from the grand finale.

A TikTok fan page shared a video, expressing their excitement about seeing Adetshina crown the next beauty queen.

The former Miss SA contestant commented: “Unfortunately, I won’t be there.”

This decision means she will not be present to hand over her crown to her successor.
