Calven Robinson's glow-up: Jojo's 'boo bear' takes the plunge into cosmetic surgery

"The Real Housewives of Durban" star Jojo Robinson and her husband Calven Robinson have proven that nothing screams couple goals like both going under the knife for transformative facelifts and a more youthful and appealing look.

Calven, affectionately known as “Boo bear”, recently underwent a blepharoplasty and eyebrow lift to fix his problematic eyesight, revealing a whole new, wrinkle-free face, courtesy of Jojo’s surgeon, Dr Paul McGarr.

Jojo recently updated her Instagram followers on her husband’s new look and recovery after his surgery.

“He had a blepharoplasty and an eyebrow lift cut on the actual eyebrow to help open his eyes,” Jojo wrote on her Instagram story.

According to experts, the surgical procedure involves modifying the eyelids to improve their appearance and functionality.

The procedure typically involves removing excess fat from the eyelids, tightening the muscles and the tissues that connect muscles to bones around the eyes, and repositioning or removing fat deposits to achieve the desired outcome.

The surgery helps with issues such as excess skin or fat around the eyes and difficulty seeing due to sagging eyelids.

As a bonus? “Boo bear” has a more youthful and refreshed appearance as well as improved vision.

The reality star, too, has been no stranger to cosmetic surgery. In 2024, she swopped all the fillers in her face for a permanent face and neck lift, which was not her first cosmetic procedure. 

Before that, she had a brachioplasty, also known as arm lift surgery; all the procedures she has undergone have amounted to more than R800 000.

It appears facelifts and other cosmetic procedures have become a go-to quick fix for high-ranking celebrities like “momager” Kris Jenner and Khanyi Mbau, opting for surgical rejuvenation to maintain their youthful glow.

Jenner’s facelift is one for the books. Her transformation left many jaws on the floor and has her looking more like one of the Kardashians and Jenner siblings than their mother. She went from wrinkles to a completely snatched face. 

Mbau, on the other hand, had a subnasal lip lift and blepharoplasty procedure done, which, according to Dr Alek Nikolic, is a small surgical procedure that removes excess upper lip skin that elongates when ageing takes place.

During a lip lift procedure, the upper lip is shortened and sutured back to the area beneath the nose, causing the lip to slightly turn outward and creating the appearance of increased fullness.
