Collen Maluleke celebrates perseverance and victory with the release of his new single, “Hita Humelela”.

“‘Hita Humelela’ comes from a deeply personal place,” he said.

“Over the years, I’ve navigated seasons of growth, doubt and breakthrough both as an artist and a pastor. Each challenge reminded me of the importance of holding on to faith, remaining steadfast and trusting God’s timing."

"I wanted this song to encourage anyone who feels like giving up, reminding them that perseverance leads to victory.”

Translated from Xitsonga, “Hita Humelela” means “we shall be victorious,” and the title reflects both the message of the song and a defining chapter in Maluleke’s artistic journey.

The single was recorded live in November in front of an audience, embracing the energy of live instrumentation and the communal spirit of worship

“Recording ‘Hita Humelela’ live allows me to connect directly with the energy of the people,” Maluleke explained.

“There’s an authenticity and immediacy that a studio can’t capture - the spontaneous worship, the cheers, the emotional response. It creates a communal celebration, which is essential in gospel music, and allows the message of hope and triumph to resonate more powerfully.”

The song also reflects Maluleke’s personal journey and the challenges that he has overcome.

“One of the hardest seasons was trying to produce live shows without consistent financial support. Putting together a quality event involves musicians, venues, production and marketing, often carrying the risk myself."

"I pushed through by leaning on faith, trusting the purpose behind my music and surrounding myself with a dedicated team. ‘Hita Humelela’ reflects that perseverance and the victory that follows,” he said.

Maluleke’s music blends spirituality, heritage and contemporary influences.

“My sound blends contemporary gospel with South African rhythms and praise-and-worship influences. ‘Hita Humelela’, like my other work, is Tsonga, Zulu and English, so it resonates across generations."

"All my songs are composed by me, which allows me to express my personal journey of faith and heritage. It also gives me the opportunity to preach and share meaningful messages through music, using every song as a way to inspire, uplift and speak to people’s hearts.”

The single is the first release from an upcoming album scheduled for later this year.

“The album will be a journey of worship, prayer and personal reflection,” Maluleke shared.

“Listeners can expect songs that inspire hope, encourage resilience and celebrate God’s faithfulness. ‘Hita Humelela’ sets the tone for the project, and there are collaborations with talented gospel artists.”
