"The Real Housewives of Durban" reality TV star, Jojo Robinson and Martin, her firstborn Labubu son, went under the needle.
Robinson, who is covered from neck to toe with tattoos, returned to popular tattoo artist Mike Artura to complete her neck tattoo.
In a quirky twist, she got Artura to tattoo her Labubu doll's face.
After two years of contemplation and preparation, she finally embraced the commitment, telling her followers: "Clearly I don't have commitment issues ... after 2 years I finally got brave enough to finish my neck ... we don't need to share the details on how I managed to sit through it. We still have a little to finish, though ..."
Robinson provided a glimpse into her tattooing experience, adding a bit of humour with her candid commentary: "Fyi ... NEVER take sleeping tablets while getting tattooed. It's not a vibe .. maybe one day I'll share the videos from yesterday😂. Not sure what planet I was on. But it wasn't this one."
Days later, on her Instagram Stories, she posted: " We're in the peeling phase. Weirdly enough, it hasn't been that sore, usually, afterwards is really sore, but it hasn't been that bad, so get a neck tattoo ... I still have to see if I'm going to post those videos I did, but I doubt it."
Earlier this month, she dug into her archives to post a throwback of her full leg sleeve that took over 30 hours to complete with Artura.
She recalled the painstaking journey, sharing, "Let me just tell you, full leg sleeves. 😶🌫️😵😱😰... Maybe 30+ hours per leg, depending on the design ... and the heeling😭 the inability to walk after long sessions.
"The pain of blackout areas ... the most painful parts of the leg are the knee, behind the knee, under the bum, everywhere really😂. But worth every second ... poor Mike sat through me crying multiple times. 😂Tattoos cover every insecurity you have ... I don't regret one.
"I love that my body is ART. 💛 I can't wait to complete the last 15% ish of my full body sleeve. (I'm not doing the face.) It's been a year since I've been able to get tattooed, but it's finally nearly time again😂."
Getting back to Martin, Robinson also posted a video of the Labubu doll getting his first tattoo.
Yes! Robinson personalised her doll by tattooing 2 teardrops and the word "bad" on the doll's face.
Artura chimed in by reposting the video and captioning it: "Hahaha never a dull moment with @mrs.jojo.robinson."
Over eight years, Robinson has invested between R200 000 to R300 000 - or possibly more - in her tattoos, each one representing a significant chapter of her life.
